stuck in red

A green beetle trudging on the edge…

Colorful bugs are supposed to be more poisonous than unattractive ones. This one  measured my movements for quite a long time but ultimately decided to spare me. These shots were taken when it turned back and continued on its own quest.

Location: Campus, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

This was my first field test in what I call the golden hour of the day – around 2nd to 1st hour before sundown. The natural light available at this hour on a clear day is any photographer’s delight, especially landscapers. It’s warmer without any camera tweaks.

This was taken with a P&S camera; I reduced noise a bit with Selective Gaussian Blur in GIMP.
